Submitting a claim with Atradius

Our claims team is here to ensure your claim is handled as quickly and efficiently as possible. Each policy is assigned its own dedicated claims examiner who will communicate with you via Atrium

Timeline of the claims process

We work on a 30-day period before you can expect to receive our assessment of liability. After we have assessed the liability and the date of loss has passed, your claim will be paid in 5 days.

The information below will give you a general idea of how we will process your claim. We require three initial supporting documents for us to begin to process your claim effectively. You can then expect to receive further communication from us to ensure that we have the necessary additional information to finalise your claims assessment. Once we have been provided with all of the necessary information, please allow a 30-day period before you can expect to receive our assessment of liability. Click on each timeline below for more of an understanding on each step of the claims process.

Log on to Atrium and select the Collection and Claim option from the menu. Follow the instructions on the screen and add all the details of the overdue. There is also the option to add supporting documents at this point.

Submission

If you don't have all required documents ready when submitting your claim, send over any supporting documents via Atrium to move your case forward.

Documents

Based on the information provided, an Early Costs Assessment will be carried out to determine our contribution to costs.

Early cost assessment

In the case of a protracted default claim, a Pre-Liability Calculation is carried out to give you an indication of our liability at the date of loss.

Pre-liability calculation

In the case of an insolvency claim, Atradius Collections will carry out all of the necessary Insolvency Procedures (except Retention of Title claims, which have to be carried out by the insured).

Insolvency

In the case of a protracted default claim, Atradius Collection will begin pursuing the debt on your behalf as soon as the claim is registered.

Collection

If a protracted default claim is still outstanding five months after the due date of your original invoices, then your claim will be examined for payment.

Examination

Once your claim has been approved and payment authorised, the claim will be processed. Payment takes on average five days. Payments over €/£100K will be processed the same day.

Submitting your claim
1 - Submitting a claim

Each time you submit a claim at Atradius, our team require three essential pieces of information to begin their assessment*. Delays in providing the required documentation can prevent the process from progressing past the submission stage and may also cause delays to the collections process or inaccurate assessment of our contribution to costs.

*These three documents are required to begin the assessment, further documentation may be required throughout the process.

2 - Required documents *Important*

The three essential documents that we require at the time of your initial claim submission are:

A. Copy invoices

B. Statement of account

C. Evidence of discretionary credit limit (if applicable)

If there is no approved credit limit and you have justified cover via an endorsed discretionary credit limit facility, we will require a copy of the supporting credit report, or 12 months trading history in the required format, which includes: Invoice date  /  Invoice amount  /  Date due  /  Date paid.

For help providing your trading history, you can find some helpful documents in the "Useful Links & Documents" section at the bottom of this page.

Once we have received all of the required information, we aim to respond to your claim within 30 days.

3 - Ready to submit?

Each time you are ready to begin a new claim submission, please ensure you upload the three initial required documents upon case entry. This will ensure that our Claims team will be able to begin the assessment of your claim promptly and effectively.
